10 LAWS OF SOCIAL BEHAVIOR

1. Everything is a negotiation.

2. Everyone wants something: even if it's something as simple as fair treatment.

3. Those who want to be oppressors, first claim to be victims.

4. Mobs will always exist because responsibility evasion will always be attractive.

5. Anger and hate are useful boundary-setting tools.

6. High trust societies are like medieval cathedrals: they take centuries to build but can be burnt down in a week.

7. People don't want capital T Truth but small f facts that justify their pre-existing worldview.

8. People who agree with you because you're right are your friends; people who agree with you because you're in power are future backstabbers.

9. Free will, just like intelligence, has a bell-curve distribution: some have none, some have a lot, most have middling amounts. Act accordingly.

10. The shape and texture of tribes will change but tribal warfare will remain.
